Our Story

Poet's Seat Health Care Center was named after the famous "Poet's Seat Tower". In 1966, a local physician created Poet's Seat Health Care Center. This physician recognized the need for a place where local elders could turn for nursing care. It was with a deep sense of dedication and compassion that our facility became a cornerstone of the community. It is this philosophy of dedication, compassion and a home away from home that still holds true today. We continue to remain the premiere facility within the Greenfield Community.

We are unique among Health Care Centers. We have created an intimate, home-like, family orientated atmosphere; reminiscent of it's original beginning over 34 years ago. We are nestled in downtown Greenfield, one mile from Franklin Medical Center. We offer the finest nursing care for both long term, short-term rehab and respite residents.

Our dedicated staff provides a tailored plan of care in accordance with physicians' directives. Each department works with the resident on a personal level with respect and compassion, striving to maximize the highest level of functioning.

We also offer financial assistance with understanding insurances. We work with families in preparing for the expense of long-term care.

In a warm and cozy atmosphere we strive to know all of our residents and their families on a personal level. We understand the importance of working with individual physicians in offer to provide the latest medical interventions.
