Winter Carnival returns
On Saturday, February 11, Poet's Seat Health Care Center will, once again, be holding their Winter Carnival. This great family event, not held since February 2010, will be free and open to the community. Splash the Clown will be on-hand to entertain the children with games, face painting and balloon animals. Games geared toward kids will be played and prizes will be awarded. Traditional carnival food favorites will be available, including fried dough and cotton candy!
A special Valentines Day gift basket will be raffled-off. The basket includes all the things to make a special Valentines Day, including chocolates, wine and candles. It will also include special hand-made jewelry, created by Poet's Seat Health Care Center staff member Laura Castano.
Following the carnival, everyone is welcome to stay for the musical entertainment of Joey Stankiewicz, beginning at 2:30.
The carnival will be held from 10am-2pm at their location at 359 High Street in Greenfield. All proceeds from the event will benefit the residents' activities fund. Soup Cook-Off
On Wednesday, February 29, Poet's Seat Health Care Center will be hosting their annual Soup Off! This culinary competition is your opportunity to show off your creativity and skills in the kitchen. It is open to all staff members and residents' family members.
The Soup Off begins at 2:30 pm in the main dining room. Simply prepare your soup at home, and bring it to our facility in a crock-pot (or other electrical kitchen appliance) to keep it warm. Our residents will serve as the judges in the competition, with prizes being awarded to the winner. Many staff members have already expressed interest in competing, including defending champion Jeana Bachinski (Social Services Director).
If you are interested in participating in this fun-filled competition, we ask that you sign up by calling Zenaida or Cathy in activities at 774-6318, or by e-mailing inquiries@pshcc.com. There is no registration fee to enter.
Wii Bowling Tournament
Poet's Seat Health Care Center will once again be holding it Wii Bowling Tournament for staff and residents' family members, on Wednesday, February 22 at 2:30pm. All staff and family members must pair with a resident. Prizes will be awarded to the winner. If you are interested in participating, contact Zenaida or Cathy in activities, or complete the sign-up sheet in the recreation room. For more information, e-mail inquiries@pshcc.com.
